The Jonah Hex Lilah costume is based on the outfits worn by Megan Fox in the Jonah  Hex movie. This was an action type movie adapted from the DC comics graphical novel of the same name.

Jonah Hex is a confederate soldier during the time for the American civil war. He is horribly disfigured by a villainous baddy called Quentin Turnbull who also kills his family. He goes on to become a fearsome bounty hunter that has the power to talk to the dead. However his overriding passion is to wreak his revenge on Turnbull and his cronies.

The film/novel is a mix of action, western and supernatural genres. The comic was fairly popular however the movie didn’t get such a good reception.

Lilah And Her Costumes

Lilah (real name Tallulah Black) is the main female character in the movie. She is extremely beautiful and very streetwise. These two attributes come in handy as she works in a Saloon bar as a prostitute. This includes having derringer like pistols located on various parts of her body or pockets in her clothing in case she has to defend herself against the people she meets in her profession. In fact, the first scene we see her in is using a derringer against a guy that wants to avail of her services when she has finished for the day.

She has met Jonah Hex before the opening of the film and they are lovers. She seems to have strong attraction to him despite his disfigurements and less than friendly persona. She ends up joining him as he hunts down Quentin Turnbull. It is during this hunt that we she how adept she is at fighting and handling a weapon. She helps dispatch many a villain with fists, pots and pans and the odd pistol. Without getting a hair out of place or ripping her lovely outfits !

Many ghosts are not really bad, but just misunderstood.  As long as you have done them no harm, there is no reason for them to do the same to you.  People are always afraid of the unknown- maybe that is what makes them so scary.

A little bit on peachicks

A quick look on Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands, played by Johnny Depp, was tagged as “The story of an uncommonly gentleman”.  He is so uncommon that he has scissors for his hands and fingers, hence the name.  This is so since he is merely an unfinished creation of an inventor.  Unfortunately, the inventor suffered a heart attack just before he was able to give Edward a normal pair of hands.

The film tells the story of how he was isolated for years in a tower way up high until an Avon lady finds him and takes him back to her small town.   He is then faced with the struggles of adapting to society but eventually finds use for his “unique” hands.  He finds himself giving stylish hair cuts to the locals and when Christmas time comes along, making ice sculptures.

Unfortunately, all does not end well.  Just like any other tragedy, he is forced back to his tower and is forever separated from his love.

Miss Scissorhands Costume

The Miss Scissorhands Costume is a female take on the lead role of the film.  You too will give guys heart attacks just at the mere sight of you in this “SHEAR” and sexy goth inspired ensemble.

The Gothic subculture craze originated in England during the 1980s. In fact the grim reaper was originally known as the angel of death and is still referred to by that name from time to time. The angel of death was a personification or a way to explain a person meeting their death in a symbolic form which was good for literature and story telling. It helped to explain an unpleasant topic and allowed the story teller to leave out all the gory details – like how the person died or what happened to him/her. Suffice to say that the story teller could just say that the angel of death swept up the hero and took him to where ever he went in the afterlife

This type of character is common in many forms of mythology. For instance, The Valkyrie are a form of angel of death in Norse mythology.

They would often meet up with an unfortunate Viking warrior that had been slain on the battle field and escort him to Valhalla. Valhalla was the afterlife and it was supposed to be a good place – apparently a beer hall, with lots of drinking and singing.

Valkyries were originally described as quite horrible creatures, much like the costume in the picture. They have been turned into beautiful women with the passage of time.

This particular angel of death costume consists of  a full length black robe with tattered effect and  exposed skeleton chest. The robe is fixed at the middle with a braided straw waist tie to give the costume some shape.
